About This Spot

Nestled atop the gentle rise of Sunbury’s tranquil landscape, Spyglass on the Ridge Winery & Restaurant welcomes you with an unhurried charm that feels both inviting and refreshing. The moment you arrive, a quiet sense of escape settles in—the lush vineyards stretch patiently under the open sky while the warm wooden interiors of the restaurant offer a cozy refuge from the day-to-day. There’s an easy rhythm here, where time slows just enough for you to savor the simple pleasures of good company, craftsmanship, and thoughtfully prepared food.

The atmosphere is a harmonious blend of rustic winery soul and approachable dining comfort. Guests can drift from the porch’s gentle breeze indoors, where the mix of fresh wood aromas and soft murmurs set the stage for a meal that feels like a shared experience rather than just service. Whether you’re here for a casual bite or a full evening, the space adapts—a comfortable backdrop to quiet conversation or an animated celebration during one of their live events.

Food and drink flow naturally into this environment. The menu offers familiar favorites with subtle twists, like flatbreads kissed with local flavors and entrees that balance elegance with heartiness. The carefully curated wine list, made right on site, complements each dish with a story in every glass, while original cocktails and local brews keep the pace lively without overwhelming. Whether it’s the delicate touch in a duck confit or the playful heat of house-made wings, the kitchen’s commitment to genuine flavor shines through, making each bite a discovery.

What truly distinguishes Spyglass on the Ridge is how the human element permeates every moment. The staff’s warmth and ease create a space where questions are met with genuine interest and recommendations with a knowing smile. It’s a place where people feel seen—not just as guests, but as part of a small, welcoming community gathering under the open sky.

Spyglass on the Ridge is more than just a spot for food and wine; it’s a place where local moments unfold naturally. From intimate dinners to lively concerts that fill the hillside with music and laughter, it’s a destination that invites exploration, connection, and the slow appreciation of what makes a place distinctly its own.

This card was placed on our table, and I have to say I absolutely love this idea! Our waitress mentioned that the restaurant recently brought in a new chef and is encouraging reviews, and I think the way they went about it is brilliant. The food was fantastic, as well as the beer and wine were even better. I wish we had grabbed a photo of the food, but it was gone pretty quickly. Such a perfect little escape.

What a great location for a concert — Spyglass Ridge Winery! We saw Walker Hayes, Ashley McBryde and June Gates last night. It was a lot of fun. The stage is big and higher than the crowds. You can sit in front of the stage, back a bit on the grass hill or even on the open porch on the side of the restaurant. Many food trucks were there with a wide variety of items to eat. We enjoyed pulled pork sandwiches with a variety of sauces to choose from, and later we enjoyed chicken strips with fries and hot dogs with fries. Spyglass Ridge’s wine, beer and hard soda were all available to purchase and enjoy. We chose a bottle of their wine, Chambourcin. It is on their dry list although to us, it was not entirely our thoughts of a dry wine. It had a nice taste and was enjoyable. We all agreed. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Security was present and easily found. It was great when they finally noticed the couple sitting next to us chain smoking away throughout the concert and annoying us non-smokers. They were kindly asked to only smoke in the designated smoking section. And security did not want to hear from them as to why they couldn’t continue to smoke amongst the concert goers. Spyglass Ridge Winery hosts 5 concerts a year. The weather was beautiful last night and added to our enjoyment. Concerts go on rain or shine. They have had some impressive popular music groups perform here. Tickets are delivered through Ticketmaster. Parking for events is $10.

Atmosphere is wonderful. The food handmade by the new chef was fantastic. As soon as it hit my tastebuds, I was in love. I ordered the Kennett Square flatbread with hot honey and the dozen cauliflower wings with sweet Asian chilli and teriyaki sauce.10/10. Now don’t get me started on the waiter. Beatrice was so lovely and assured us with whatever we needed. She held conversation with us and really made us feel at home, especially just visiting for the first time. I will definitely be returning soon!

The hosts were very accommodating, social and welcoming. The food was excellent. The chef and the bartender made sure we were well taken care of. My wife was sold we will be back. The wines, hard sodas and drinks were unique and refreshing. We only tasted the white wine but we're impressed. We stayed at the winery in our 38 class A.

We flew in from FL last yesterday to see my favorite country singer, Walker Hayes, and decided to try the winery for dinner before the concert. Makayla, our waitress, was incredible and so fabulous at answering all our questions, and even offered us chairs for the event from her house! The Merlot I ordered was one of the best I’ve had in the states. Delicious, dry, but you could taste fruity experience. I ordered scallops and they were perfect! Melted in my mouth along with the creamy risotto. The meal was superb! My husband had coleslaw with fish and chips. The coleslaw was made with the red cabbage but the taste was incredible! Tom the owner also answered all our questions about their wine sodas, and until you have had one, you will never understand! We’ve been to quite a few wineries, and this one is topping my chart! Plan to dine again there tonight for another palate adventure!

This was our second visit with the first being five years ago. Both times we had memorable experiences. The venue was beautiful, the wine excellent, and the owner and the winemaker awesome. We would definitely visit again. If you’re in the area, check them out. If you want a relaxing stay, find them on HipCamp and/or HarvestHosts.
